Our Guidelines:
Bread for the Journey actively seeks out inspired individuals and groups working within their own communities. We seek to enter into a supportive relationship with them and provide seed money to help their service idea grow into action. We seek regular folks with a good idea for their community who just need a little boost to get going. We work quietly and simply to bring this support to neighborhoods in need. Our administrative requirements are minimal.
How it Works:
Bread for the Journey is run as simply as possible. Our group of BJF volunteers seeks out those who are working within their own communiies or who have an idea and are in need of a little assistance. We want to meet with them, hear about their project and lend a hand. This process requires virtually no overhead and no bureaucracy. Our goal is to serve directly and with simple dignity, the diverse communities in the Denver area.
Of great help in our work is an Advisory Commmittee comprised of local people with knowledge of social services, health, spirituality, education, the arts and youth. We seek their community and neighborhood guidance.
